A Cute Ruffle Romper You Need for Summer

Romper, my  favorite outfit for summer. I got so excited when  i found this romper at Francesca’s. I live in shorts and lightweight blouses all summer long. Rompers can do both and not much styling needed, you throw in a few accessories and you are good to go. That’s why i love rompers because they are so convenient , it’s like you are in a onesie all day. It’s a perfect summer staple to add to your summer wardrobe.

I love the details of this romper, especially the ruffles  along the bottom of the shorts and the ruffles on the sleeves. The ruffles on the shorts gives that flared look and gives the illusion of a longer and skinnier legs. I am 4″11 in person but most people told me that i look a bit taller on the photos. Here’s my secret, i wear clothes that make me look tall just like this romper here and most of all, my pictures are taken from the bottom pointing up. Heels is a must for me when i do outfit shots, once in awhile i wear flats but most of the time i wear heels and i changed to flat shoes after taking pictures.  It depends on the situation when i really have to, but i always bring flat shoes with me.

Ok back to the romper, the material and quality is topnotch and well- made. Not the wear and toss kind of clothes or those one-wash and it’s done, not at all. I also love the style of it, very modest it’s not showing too much skin except the legs. I am very comfortable chasing my pre-schooler in this.

    Wedding Guest Attire: Garden Wedding

dress: c/o Tobi / bag: Tory Burch / heels : INC from Macy’s / bracelet: Kendra Scott / earrings: Givenchy

This post is a continuation from my previous post. It’s all about wedding guest outfits and this time, i’ll be talking about what to wear for a garden wedding. There are plenty of options for a garden wedding outfit, you can go for florals, brights and pastels. Since the occasion calls for an outside venue, i always opt to wear something light and airy just like this rose skater dress . Dresses that are cocktail or tea length are appropriate but you can also get away with a semi-formal maxi dress. I personally love dresses with lace or crochet details on it because it looks more elegant and feminine, fitting enough for a garden venue. When it comes to accessorizing, i am always drawn to delicate fine jewelries, statement bag and nude strappy heels. Standing as 4’11, nude heels is a must for me. So, i always opt for above the knee length dresses and nude heels combo.

Thank you so much for reading and have a great day!

Wedding Guest Attire : Cocktail or Semiformal

dress: c/0 Tobi  / bag: Tory Burch / shoes: Steven Madden / sunglasses: Celine

As a wedding guest, we have to know the proper etiquette on how to dress for the occasion. You don’t have to go over-the-top and steal the show from the bride. It is more about looking nice, elegant, presentable and respectable. The first thing you’re going to take note when you are invited to a wedding is to know the dress code. If the dress code is not stated, check the venue  if it’s a garden, a beach , a hall, wherever.

In this dress that i was wearing here, it is more for a cocktail or semiformal. My tip, wear something that i easy to dance in, socialize and chase your little kids. A knee-length cocktail dress like this grey lace dress  is very much acceptable, not too daring and not too over the top. Throw in some accessories to finish the look with some dainty and delicate jewelries, a statement bag and elegant sandals. I opted for a strappy heels sandals because i want my sandals to be strapped in place so i don’t lose them when i’m on a dance floor or chasing my kids #momlife. And just in case, the hors d’oeuvres or a little socialization takes place outside, it’s always good to pack a good pair of sunglasses that compliments well with your outfit. You don’t want to be caught squinting in all the pictures especially when it’s too sunny. Remember, being a wedding guest is not about you, it’s for the bride and groom. Make it memorable for them.

Thank you so much for reading and have a great day!

    Take me to the Tropics

two-piece set :  c/o  Zaful (out of stock) similar style HERE  / bag: Salvatore Ferragamo (sold out) availble in  black / shoes : Alfani suede slip-ons also available in leather  / watch: c/o Daniel Wellington use the code : Aprilwashere for 15% off your purchase

Growing up from a tropical country, the Philippines. I wore a lot of floral dresseschiffon mini dresses  and light breathable shirts. It’s my go to outfit for the perfect tropical weather all year round. Just talking about it right now, it makes me miss the place. I can’t wait to visit there again with my husband and the kids. This time, the kids will be more aware of their surroundings and most of all they would remember their visit. It’s totally different from the US. In the island of Cebu where i used to live, it will only take 30 mins to go to any beach in the city.

At some point in my life, my dad had a job in a town away from the city. So my  parents rented a house in a little town by the beach for two years and it was amazing. We all strolled and played at the beach all day, we ate fresh caught sea foods everyday, all our vegetables are organic. The only entertainment we had was playing by the beach picking up sea shells, building sand castles and watching tv with only two channels.  I remembered when we moved in that little town, i was complaining a lot because i didn’t have access to anything that i was accustomed to in the city. I had no friends, no mall , two channels on the tv and most of all new school on which i complained about it too because it was a small school.

    Life was very simple.

I didn’t get it at that time. My parents were not so keen in explaining stuff to us kids, you just kinda have to figure it out yourself. At first, it felt like a torture living there because i felt like i was always bored, but as time went by you get used to everything, you build friendships and  you learned to love the place. It was the best place i ever lived in my life. The sea breeze and the sound of the waves that i listened to every night until it made me doze off to sleep, was music to my ears.

When we visit  the Philippines again, i want to take my husband and my kids to that little town where i spent the most amazing years of my childhood. Sometimes we don’t realize that the biggest impact in our lives are the simple things. We have to remind ourselves to appreciate what we have and not compare our lives or ourselves to others, because all of us have a different journey. We all have a different story.

Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful day.

On Olivia – dress: Crazy 8 /shoes: Gap Kids

I would like to thank the fashion gods for bringing back  matching sets back to mainstream. It’s like a grab and go outfit, it can be as polished as a dress but also give you the flexibility to mix and match the separates with other items in your closet. They are so easy to throw and only required a minimal styling. Also, it’s petite friendly which is what i love most about matching sets especially the shorts and skirts matching sets. The pants and top matching sets are kind of challenging to hunt for.
