    Satin Off-the-Shoulder Top

top : Nordstrom / choker necklace: Nordstrom / bag: Prada / shoes : Karl Lagerfeld / jeans : Levi’s ( old, i diy the cut off style)

If you have been following my blog, you know that I am obsessed with off- the-shoulder and cold- shoulder outfits this spring and summer season. I started obsessing about them last summer, but it became more and more popular this season coming up. Some of them came with ruffle designs, lace-up collar designs and some with wide flared sleeves. It’s definitely a 90’s fashion revival. This one that i am wearing right now is from Nordstrom. The material is satin, that’s why it’s kinda shiny on the pictures and it’s also very roomy around the bodice. For your reference, I am wearing an XS. They kinda run big on sizing. So, get a smaller size.

My go to colors for this seasons sweater weather are maroon, olive green, brown, black and navy.

Everyday Easy “Mom” Outfit for Fall

Most of us have what we call an easy outfit or a uniform. Something that we just grab, put it on and go. This is actually a little bit upgraded easy mom outfit. If you want me to be honest with you, my daily uniform is a pair of leggings, huge wrinkly t-shirt and a messy hair. But since I’m going out  for brunch that day, I gotta dress a little bit more appropriate than my house clothes.

    Repurposing Your Clothing

    tunic : Macy’s / vest : Marshalls (old) similar here / boots : Ivanka Trump / hat : c/o via Popsugar from Cat and Lucy / watch : c/0 JORD / bracelet : Charriol / bag: Prada

Repurposing items of any sort is a great idea. First, you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Second, it is sustainable to the environment. Third, being able to create something gives you an empowering feeling.

As a petite person, repurposing long tops into dresses is not new to me and I do  that quite often. But, it also is kind of tricky to style because they are meant to be a top rather than a dress. All of us have different body types, so you just have to trust your judgement if a long top is good enough to be a dress. As a case in point, this “dress” that I’m wearing is not a real dress. It is a tunic top that is long enough to be worn as a dress. I have worn this as a top here.

Another great thing about repurposing is, it’s  a good exercise to your creativity because it requires you to use your good imagination. It could be a clothing , a decor or a furniture….anything that you think  that can serve a new purpose. It gives a great feeling that can make you smile. We all know that money doesn’t buy happiness all the time, but repurposing will make you happy for sure.

    Cold Shoulder Dress

I have a thing about prints, dresses and feminine details. I don’t know why, I’m just drawn to it. With the influx of minimalist style, it’s quite tempting to try it and I did, on fitting rooms. But it just doesn’t speak to me. I guess I’m a 100%  girly girl in tutus and lace. As a stay at home mom of two, I don’t normally dressed up like this on a daily basis. But when I do, it’s refreshing. When I became a mom, I just realized that the things I do before having kids, like dressing up and putting make up on is like a normal thing. Now that I’m a mom, getting ready is a big deal and getting dressed up like this is a treat.

Off the shoulder and cold shoulder dresses/ tops  are hitting waves right now and the possibilities are endless with this one. I can dress it up with flats, heels and boots. Also, I like that I don’t have to worry about riding up my shoulders when I carry Olivia. This dress by the way, is by LC Lauren Conrad from Kohls , it’s not petite but I’m glad it fits just right on me. Her line is very feminine which I love but most of her dresses have long torso though, especially for a petite woman like me. Sometimes, I get lucky just like this dress. So, if you are 4’11 or 5 ft. , this dress is right for you.
