Memorial day or Memorial weekend is one of the most celebrated holidays here in United States of America. It is a day of remembrance for those who died in service of the United States. It is also a day when family and friends get together for some outdoor activities, backyard dinner , swimming in the pool or just simply enjoying the time anticipating and looking ahead at summer vacation.

If you have been following my blog, you know how much i enjoy entertaining. So creating an outdoor Memorial theme backyard barbecue is a great idea to enjoy cool summer moments with my family. To make this Memorial theme idea happen, i gathered things that i already have that would go with the theme, preferably something red, white and blue. Those colors signifies the American flag.

After i gathered the stuffs that i already have that would go with the theme, i made a one stop shopping at my nearest Target and found everything i needed for my Memorial Day theme tablescape. I grab some Coca-Cola™ 20 oz Share a Coke Coca-Cola™ 20 oz Share a Coke with my  husband’s name on it.  It’s so cool. You know when decorating for family gathering or parties, fun little details counts. It could be a conversation starter that warms up everyone. This year, Share a Coke is back with 1,000 new Share A Coke names featuring First and Last names. ( Here is a Cartwheel offer of 20% off Share a Coke at Target )

The Set Up

One of the easiest ways to create a tablescape is by setting the table according to the theme. I wanted to make it simple and easy but also have that patriotic scene around the table to set up the mood. I got most of my stuffs at Target, it was an easy and convenient shopping experience to find everything you need there.

These are :

  1. Red and white squared plates ( Target )
  2. Blue and white stripes table runner ( Target )
  3. Table cloth ( Target )
  4. Flower vase ( Target )
  5. Place mats ( Target )
  6. Straws ( Target )
  7. Patriotic banner ( Target )
  8. Patriotic candle holder ( owned )
  9. Cups ( owned )

This post is beautiful! Although I don’t have a big house or a patio, I love buying small things to make my home pretty. Especially, I love having a nice dining experience at home, so the things you bought from target immediately found a fan in me!
I personally love Target, they have such nice theme-based goodies for all occasions! You are really creative, coz the way you have set your table, it looks amazing! And, it’s important to create great experiences for your kids. I have such good memories from my childhood.

Very pretty decorating. I like those Share A Coke bottles with the names on them, recently I saw Ruth which was my grandmother’s name, which was very surprising as it’s an older name.

Such a beautiful and patriotic setting for a Memorial Day or July 4th bbq party! It really celebrates Americana, and Coca-Cola is as much of an American classic as anything.
